🦁🐾We want to give a very special shoutout to some of our incredible Community Partners! Thank you to the Oakwood Cafe, Hamilton's Food & Spirits/Pizzeria, and Crescent City Tavern for partnering with us! These businesses matched the amount of money our 2nd Grade Community Innovators raised by baking and selling dog treats in December. Together, we were able to donate almost $1,000 to the incredible work House of Paws, Inc. is doing to provide shelter and care to so many homeless animals in our area! Working together to make a positive impact on our community is the heart and soul of our STEM work, and we could not do it without our Community Partners 🤍 #BrookwoodSTEM

To support a more focused, engaged, and distraction-free learning environment - and to comply with the new Georgia state law - personal devices (including cell phones and smart watches) will not be permitted during the school day for Dalton Public Schools students in grades K-8 beginning January 6, 2026, when we return from Winter Break.
Attached is more information about how families can still reach students and staff at Brookwood School. These methods ensure clear, consistent communication while helping keep classrooms centered on learning.

Dalton Public Schools Electronic Devices Procedure

🦁🦴Our 2nd grade Community Innovators worked so hard to make lots of delicious homemade dog treats that they sold last week. All of the profits of this sale are going directly to one of our community partners, House of Paws, Inc. This organization works tirelessly to take care of animals in need of a home. We are so thankful for all of those that purchased these treats! We have even included a few pictures of some very happy customers! #BrookwoodSTEM

Hammond Creek and DJHS will be hosting students from the Helmut Rau Schule, Mainhardt, from March 15th - March 29th. Host families needed for visiting German students! Students from the Helmut Rau Schule are coming to Dalton in March, 2026. We need host families for these German students. We are excited to share that you will soon be able to receive your child’s cafeteria lunch balance through Rooms! We know paper reminders often get lost in the shuffle of everyday life, so any time your child’s balance exceeds $20, you will now receive a notification in Rooms.

🦁🤲Before Thanksgiving Break, our 5th Grade Humanitarians packed bean soup packets to donate to Dalton Greater Works and City of Refuge Dalton. Each soup packet contained a label that was beautifully designed by one our 5th grade students, Kate Frye. Our hope is our Lions are learning the value of working together to provide for others. #BrookwoodSTEM
